THE EXHIBITION
Award-winning portrait artist Elizabeth Wood’s first solo exhibition in 35-years reveals a large body of forgotten paintings discovered in her garden shed and not seen in public for a generation. Paintings include portraits, figurative studies and landscapes from the 1950s and 1960s. Elizabeth will visiting the gallery on Saturday 5th October from 1pm to 4pm so come down and say hello!
THE ARTIST
One of the North West’s finest portrait painters, Elizabeth was born in Bradford, studied Fine Art at Leeds College of Art and ran the Grundy House Museum and Art Gallery from 1964 to 1984. She has exhibited worldwide and has paintings in private collections and public institutions including Oxford University, Salford Museum, The Grundy Gallery, Lakelands Art Trust and Blackburn Museum.
