Award-winning artist Barbara Sykes’ new exhibition at the Weavers Factory, ‘The Human Condition’ is a retrospective of her landmark figurative works plus a brand new collection of emotive portraits created in the lockdown of 2020.
Barbara’s dancing figures are inspired by her love of Rodin; you can see how their expressive two-dimension forms embody the unique life and light of three-dimentional sculpture. And if you take a closer look at her drawings you’ll witness the abstract and emotional nature of the human condition; there is no better place to see it than the human face.
